Welcome to my new look blog. I’ve been thinking about how I wanted to update “Trace” since the beginning of summer, but it took me a while to pin down how I wanted it to change, and how to go about making that happen.

I spoke with a web designer friend who wanted to know what style I was after. More decisions that I didn’t know how to make.

Last week I started looking at templates online. They’ve come a long way! Some, including the one I finally settled on, were so beautiful I was blown away, but also scared about how to load it onto my existing site myself. I read reviews, the FAQ section of the templates site, and message boards but I couldn’t really figure out whether I was going to lose all of my archives once I hit “install.”

Mother never raised a coward, so I bought the template from here, and went for it. It worked! There was still a lot of work to do to loading extra photos into new sections of the site, and I had to design a new logo, but I had help with that from a brilliant thirteen year old.

After putting in big hours last night, and with more work yet to complete, I’m very proud to unveil my new site for your enjoyment!
