These sweet treats bring back great memories of happy children’s birthday parties when I was growing up in Australia. They are as old fashioned as it gets but tasty enough to bring back as an easy picnic snack or a crunchy brunch addition!
As you can probably tell, Honey Joys are primarily Corn Flakes with honey. There is also sugar and butter and that’s it. I make these whenever my kids need to take bakery items with them to share. They can be transported with ease and have always been a crowd pleaser!
Honey Joys Recipe
90g (3/4 stick) butter, 1/3 cup sugar, 1 tblspn honey, 4 cups Corn Flakes
Heat butter, sugar, & honey in a saucepan until frothy. Add mixture to Corn Flakes in a bowl. Mix well. Spoon into patty cases. Bake in slow oven (150C/300F) for 10 mins. Allow to cool (very important step!).
Makes 24 small/12 large.
