tropical breakfast treats

July 8, 2013

I love summer fruit and I don’t love dieting.  In fact, that word is banned from my house, along with deprivation. They are miserable words!  For me, the only way to eat food that allows me to look the way I want to in a swimsuit, is to make it more tasty and attractive than the cereal or toast I usually reach for.  It may take a bit of extra planning but I’m not talking about large quantities of fruit, just a few pieces in the fridge that you can slice, and add some creamy Greek yoghurt or cottage cheese and nuts to. These colorful bowls of sunshine are so low in calories that I sometimes follow it with a couple of eggs if I’m extra hungry that day and I still end up eating a very healthy, slimming but straight-off-a-tropical-island-delicious breakfast.papaya kiwi1 cup papaya chopped, 1/2 a sliced kiwi fruit, 1 tblspn non fat Greek yoghurt, 1 tblspn raw slivered almonds, 1 tspn golden roasted flax seeds (total: 130 calories)peach and plum1 sliced peach, 1 sliced plum, 1 tblspn non-fat greek yoghurt, 1 tblspn chopped walnuts, 1 tspn golden roasted flax seeds (total: 150 calories)water melon1/2 cup chopped water melon, 1 white nectarine, 1 1/2 tblspns non-fat cottage cheese, 1 tblspn roasted sliced almonds, 1 tspn golden roasted flax seeds ( total: 152 calories)
