postcard from Sydney – New Year’s Eve 2013

January 1, 2014

NYEThis New Year’s Eve was a special one for me. I was surrounded by my family in Australia. I’m usually so far away during the holidays. There were three generations, all happy to be spending the last night of 2013 together; eating great food, surrounded by the boom of fireworks echoing along Sydney’s waterways.  We didn’t have a clear view of the early family pyrotechnics spectacle, but we could see it mirrored in the windows across the bay as we ate fresh salads, roasted turkey and a delicious dessert platter.
At midnight we could see the Sydney Harbor display over the tree-line between our house and the city as we made our New Year’s resolutions.

Mine? To do more of the stand-up paddling I started this week, to make time to have more fun and to finish my screenplay! What are yours?
